If you're struggling with sacks, you're probably calling slow developing plays, throw more quick release short passes in to your gameplan.
Thx for your answer. I understand your advices and will try to use them.
BUT if I had a bad line it would be right. When you draft a good OL it's to try to open pass plays, medium/long ones. But as you explain I can't. And my good O linemen still are loosing battles againts average D linemes, with average pass rush skills...
But I'll try what you explained.
I haven't looked but I would suggest these are coverage sacks. If your receivers aren't getting open in one-on-ones your QB will hold on as long as he can. My guess is your OL are getting double-teamed or even triple teamed, that'll be your opponent bringing LB and S's to the line. Depending on where the blitz is coming from there should be masses of open field in the areas they've vacated. In real life, the best there is will struggle against two average players if constantly having to take on two guys.
If your efficiency in the pass game improves they will call more 'vanilla' defense allowing you to open up the playbook. To get an Offense to work, you have to either outmatch your opponent OR you have to do things when they least expect it.
I'm not sure if you watch NFL but if you do, check out last Sunday nights game when the Vikings went to Seattle. It's a Coaching master class from both Carroll and Zimmer (and there Co-ordinators). In fairness Zimmer won the contest, on all accounts bar the final score. Basic gist, whenever one team took away something the other team countered and forced more adjustments.
IF all else fails, start digging in to the gameplan matrix and formations, what works? when does it work and why? Then look for what's not working, when and what can you do to change it.
The game is exceptionally complex and deep and just when you think you have it cracked, you'll find different alleyways and rabbit holes to go down, in search for that elusive winning formula.
If you check through the sheets I post, see how your team are doing against the rest of the League in the Power rankings. It can be eye-opening to see where you most need to make improvements.
