Season 2: 1982 - General chit chat thread

QB's scrambling away from pressure!

First game post-tweaks and the game looks good. As always with pre-season we rolled players in and out all day long, we just wanted to assess the full depth of the squad and the 'rule changes' (software code changes).

Good workout XXX, lots of film to study!

Sacks work and Punt Block Exploit seems to be repaired. XXX has a very fast FS in the first row of ST rushers and he didn't come near to the punter.
It was nice to see my QB scrambling and the gaining 11 yds for a 1st down. The whole game looks better now.
Let's see what future brings.

You spent most of the day playing against 2nd, 3rd and 4th stringers so I'd hold off on getting carried away with the 'Return of the Sack' but agreed, game looked really good. The QB scramble was great (even against my team).

OL and DL should show everyone why their trade values are so high in this coding.

i am beyond confused about my first preseason game. Insane performance by my offense, and especially my backup QB Holley. 337 Yards 4 TDs and 0 Ints? With almost only backups on the field at other positions aswell? While playing vs. mainly starters from a good Team? Haven't changed my gameplan or anything at all lately.

Admiral, we should put that into perspective. There were 9 sacks from my side versus 5 with me. The number of sacks at 1st row and 2nd, 3rd was roughly balanced. That means that more sacks are likely in the regular season. So it really depends on good OL and DL as well as the corresponding plays.

I got curious so I jumped on here to spot check. You have to love the change because scrambling was a useless rating going completely unused for years!!!!!!!! Last time a QB scramble happened was either in v4.2 PA Roll-out....slide out and run or in error on a very rare occasion the 3-1-1 Mid-field Pass had a rush or two like total, ever.

You can easily see the logic written in, too. JDB hasn't over-done it. A slow roll out with 1 QB rush sneaking in there; could probably advance to more in a game as we finagle and massage it. This adds a new layer to QBs and considerations!

Note: no backups throwing 30 throws - 1 completions - 8 yards - 0 TD - 5 INT

63 QB's threw a ball in week one.

Good luck on the new season to all 32 team's. Remember to start getting those short contracts extended.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS THE RENEGOTIATION WIZARD.
