I see the updates haven’t affect Connie Jones and his terrible pass release. True underdog there!
I checked things out from time to time. He is doing well almost every game. Last season facing the Same team he lost and threw for his worst game and This season he lights them up!
Digging a bit deep and being purely hypothetical here but his carry and acceleration is great. Both seem to be key ratings in this code.
My question is how ? and I think causes he’s getting back quicker going through his reads and making good throws. He’s got a ton of weapons who have a lot of carry themselves. Which helped him a lot last season.
This season having weapons is great too but his accuracy is not the highest but my lower accuracy QBs are doing a bit better in this code as well. I am not liking super slow QBs but passing short has lowered my sacks counts a lot.
There Are a few long passes that dump it off quicker but it’s like if the qb can’t take a 7 step drop consistently here. Definitely not a nine as the pressure is already coming at them by 2 seconds.
Basically you need the weapons and some sort of a blend of 5 -7 step drop passes. A lot our short and medium passes falls in this range. There some 7 step ones that you need to get back quickly..... this is where a blend of QBs mobility comes in to play. Hence the carry and acceleration thing.
Having the talent is key for most schemes but when it’s tight these two odd ratings have seen a benefit in a lot of scenarios. I love to see what a bunch guys of good man coverage guys/ schemes would do vs Jones?
And maybe it is almost better to have weapons and drive passes toward your talent on the outsides by play choice and lower FOV. The game last season vs the skye blues ran some more zone ... it was a early in the season and jones seemed to get better as the season progressed. Probably a familiarity thing.
Definitely an underdog....... but you team is s not one for sure.
