Well, not soon (based on the lack of changes I've seen in MFN-1 so far), but still long before I could figure what matters and what doesn't in v0.4 (if that's even possible).

I'm really just trying to figure out the OL and QBs.

I already know what is most important to every other position: SPEED! (I'm half kidding about this part).

If your Kicker and Punter don't have 100 Speed, you're doing it wrong.

Do you even MFN, bro? :P :D

I want my P and K to have Speed and Tackling.

I knew I was doing something wrong, this must be why my kickers keep costing me playoff games on easy kicks...

Speed and Pass Rush .. because I'm certain I could use them as DEs .. ;)

You don't understand... e=mc2... the faster he runs at the ball, the further it goes when he kicks it.

And yeah, that whole tackling the returner part too. :P

QB
Attributes: Accuracy (100); Speed (66); Look Off, Field of Vision, Scrambling (33)
Analysis: Why speed over scrambling? Easy. Scrambling helps mitigate a passing accuracy penalty for throwing on the move. Speed can completely negate a penalty for being under pressure. Fast QBs can scramble out of pressure, set their feet, and throw without coming back under pressure. Or they can take off running and still pick up positive yards.

Has anyone ever looked into Ball Carrying for QBs? I have a theory based on the play of my QB in MFN-15 (https://mfn15.myfootballnow.com/player/12) that Ball Carrying may be a good sub for scramble. In the two seasons that I've been fielding a decent gameplan with the team, he's been sacked the fewest times in the league. It may just be a combination of his speed, ball carrying, and break tackle too. He's only go 50 scramble, so that certainly isn't doing much to help.

I look at Ball Carry for QBs, but I don't value it. The way that I've seen Ball Carry work is as an over time attribute. A RB with 100 SP and 20 Carry will burst through a hole, but can get caught in the open field. Whereas a RB with 60 SP and 100 Carry will struggle to get through a hole, but will maintain speed longer than the 100 SP RB.

"I've never seen SUGAR do THAT!" Beatrice speaking to Edgar in Men in Black.

Well, I never knew that about RB's before either!!

To ALL the regular contributors here: I sure appreciate your knowledge, ability to figure this type of thing out, and then sharing it with those of us who have not figured out such things.

Where does acceleration fit in to your weights?

Exactly 1 point. I'm not an AC believer like some people that have a lot of success so take it as you will. I see it as useful, but not necessary.

Yeah I was led to believe that ACC is key for all on the LOS.

This Position Weighting business on this game is superb - no other game allows you to tweak weightings etc, and spend so much time trawling over what really counts.

Guess like in all sports so many variables affect so many other variables etc etc etc.

Keep up the good analysis for us lazier and less-educated folk!

Analysis: The jury is still out on speed here. I have had plenty of slow WRs do just fine. In fact, one of my favorite things to do is move RBs with good WR attributes, but slow speed, to WR. I also go back and forth on whether route running or courage is more important. Having both is great, but it's really take your pick.

I should let everyone know that after posting this, I took a wild deviation from my WR weights after tracking a WR with 15 SP that Bryson is experimenting with in preseason of 75.

I've always thought that SP was not essential to WRs if they have all the right attributes elsewhere, and 15 SP is beginning to show that was right. So my new experimental WR weights are as follows:

Route - 100
Catch, Courage, B&R Avoid - 66
SP - 33
