Great work ! I was wondering the punters stats with no headings. Is the percentage one punts Inside the 20 ? And what are the others?

One is based on the net yards lost (on returns) - this shows whether or not your Punter is getting enough hang time for your team to stop or limit the return.

The other is %of Punts inside the 20.

I'd like to include things like %of touchbacks/ and % of fair catches but the data isn't there for me to draw it from.

I don't include yards per punt as this reflects badly on a Punter from a dominant team who is looking to pin opponents deep on shorter punts. Hmmm, made me realise that Punt strength is more useful for a poor team and punt accuracy for a good team.

I suppose I could include 'longest punt' as a measure for strength but using just one kick to judge that could be an outlier that got a good bounce.

Oh and final column takes the ranking for each section adds them together and divides by two to give you a ranking for each Punter in the League.


I can't explain why some Punters have a negative yardage on 'Net yards lost' on returns. I think you could get the occasional game where a muffed punt or a fumbled return could lead to a negative yard scenario. But I don't think that would show up after 10+ games.

Other possibility would be a penalty against the kick return team, but again that should be wiped out over multiple games? One for JDB to look into perhaps?

Plan eventually is to have a ranking system for every position in the League maybe update one or two charts each week and all at the end of each season. It should make free agency and trading interesting.

Good game, Monarx. Closer than the score suggests as we got 14 points off the back of turnovers. Late game showboating from our QB Keegan who attempted several no-look throws. Maybe the neck injury he was carrying prevented him from turning his head? LOL
