I'd like the rosters in the League to be more reflective of how NFL teams are ie not stacked with WR's and CB's and then playing them out of position.
I don't want to be too Draconian about this, but seeing rosters without a recognised RB on the active roster is not really within the spirit of the game - even if it is technically acceptable in the rules of the game.
Before I make any sweeping changes, I'd like to give everyone the chance to express their point of view. The options as I see it are.
A > No changes the game is fine as it is
B > Minimum numbers ON THE ACTIVE ROSTER at QB (2), RB (3), FB (1), TE (3), OL (8), WR (4), P (1), K (1), DL (6 in a 3-4, 8 in a 4-3) and LB (8 in a 3-4, 6 in a 4-3) CB (6) - no maximum numbers at any positions - this fills 43 of your 46 spots and the remaining 10 players (inc. inactives) can be whatever position you choose.
C > Maximum numbers for WR (9) and DB (CB, FS and SS combined) (10) on a 53 man roster
D > The starting player at each position should be position specific eg RB1 should be an RB, DT1 should be a DT etc
E > Lets get extreme, players can only play at designated roster positions until the 4th option and beyond for that position - then anyone is eligible
F > Gentlemens agreement to play the game fairly without resorting to exploits
If you get hit with injuries you will need to decide whether to shuffle players around the roster (whilst staying within the agreed limits), make a trade or use the free agent pool.
I'm very interested in all opinions and if you're concerned about reactions of others you can send your thoughts to me via pm.
