That was a year ago before we cracked the 4.6 code and starting throwing the ball for 5,000+ yards a season. There is always a way but it takes time to hone in on it.

By playing 190lb TE’s and LBs and using the same 12 passing/def plays that always worked, but that is a grievance for a different thread. I do it too, just to survive.

League of Legends & NFL leagues have no WR at TE rules yet every season there are 4,000-4,500 yard passers.

When 4.6 first hit, EVERYONE was lucky to throw for 2,000 yards including LOL when it was run by Theadmiral so yeah WR at TE has opened it up even more but it was cracked long before everyone took that step.

I have weight restrictions in Beast Mode as well, I know it’s not impossible, but that particular target does a lot more damage when undersized. —atleast until it faces a similarly undersized defense…there’s always enough purists or passive owners in a league playing heavy to get that competitive advantage about half the time.

The real problem is 4.6 has been around for 3 years now and when you have assassins going after a code for three years all the holes are found.

WR at TE didn't happen overnight. Theadmiral had 3 leagues running it before it was released and nobody ever cracked 4000 yards until it was released and we had time to go to work.

It's common knowledge now but it was everyone throwing the kitchen sink at the code that it became a reality. Tons of hard work to figure out what works and what doesn't.

If JDB would update the code more often it would never reach this point. I had to listen to all similar complaints about 4.5 3 years ago because it was played out.

All the blame for MFNs shortcomings lands squarely on JDBs shoulders because he doesn't fix the issues.

Custom rules are cool, I've used them in the past but I got tired of having to enforce them when it's not my responsibility. We have clearly shown JDB that the Sim is broken and he needs to fix it....point blank.

Passive owners should all know by now to use WR at TE but if they chose not to then they probably aren't gonna win with a no WR at TE rule because there are tons of over things you can do to get an advantage from rules, to play selection and custom player weights.

My leagues have no rules and I encourage everyone to compete at the highest level doing whatever they can to win within the structure of the code.

I wish JDB would put out a new version every year, that would fix a bunch of problems

Enforcing custom rules sucks, because what can we really do, other than boot people or reprimand them on the message board? We don't have the user base to kick people out of leagues for not following lineup/roster rules and like CJ said, it's not our responsibility.

JDB is like Goodell, he oversees everything and sets the parameters. We, as team owners, can ***** and moan about it and some still go the custom rule route. I gave up on that, instead I'd rather publicize things like use WR at TE so everyone in USFL is at least aware they can do it.

Remember when Belichick did those funky formations against Baltimore in the playoffs? Skill guys lining up on the ball with lineman spread out, Ravens defense was confused and Harbaugh was mad as ****. BTW I love seeing Harbaugh mad as ****.

Point is Belichick was within the rules at the time although Harbaugh's whining got that taken out the following offseason. These rules/cheats are there for everyone to use, none are secret. It's fine if people don't want to use them but complaining about others using them is not a good look.

I totally agree about the hassle of custom rules. I haven’t kicked anybody yet over weight restrictions, and hate ever resorting to that kind of policy for any violation. I am a live and let live kind of guy, and want to everyone to have enough freedom to enjoy playing this game how they see fit. Mostly the weight rules are just there to keep the game honest to what the game of football is/should be. To help the sim accomplish its goal or recreating the reality of playing the actual game, not just breaking the algorithm to highlight how inaccurate it still is. It also serves to make that (Beast Mode) league a little different from the wide open no rules leagues, so there is maybe some variety to the challenges of this sim instead of simply collecting speed and shedding weight. All that code breaking has its purpose and place, I’m not trying to change that, just doing my thing in my little slice of it.

Custom rules are great until someone (Grandadb) breaks them in the Conference Championship game (XFL) and wins the game by 7 points.

What do you do then?

Yeah, I booted him but it doesn't help the owner who lost and ironically history now shows that the A.I. won a Title in the XFL.

I have literally poured a thousand hours adding extra content into that league and one nefarious jerk can damage the integrity of the league.

That's why I will NEVER use custom rules again because there are always owners who will cheat then when caught will ask forgiveness.

I hope nobody has to deal with that type of disaster in any of their leagues. You want more irony? Grandadb who has been caught violating custom rules in 4 different leagues including a league where he was admin and wrote the rules, has a new FCS league with a bunch of confusing rules.

Grandadb whose excuse was he is too old and too busy to remember custom rules in different leagues, even rules he wrote in his own league, creates a league with complicated custom rules. LMFAO!!!!

I wish everyone in leagues with custom rules good fortune but in the end what can you really do when someone violates them in a Conference Championship game?

BTW....the owner that lost to Grandadb in that CC game quit MFN completely and Grandadb is still playing MFN. How is that right?

My team in MFN 74 https://mfn74.myfootballnow.com/team/2 had an in game kicker injury and it resulted in a WR kicking FGs. Now that WR was 2 for 2 but I find it curious the AI took the regular kicker out for a hand injury.

lol....But that just sounds like a kicker doesn't it?
Now I want to see a WR go on IR cause his feelings got hurt. Then we'd be getting into some real simulation right there.

Have a WR quit midgame
