1985: Season 5, General chit-chat thread

Good practice workouts with Kowloon and Tasmania, our D look solid - not sure what to make of our Offense. Understandably, the Head Coach seems to lack a little confidence in his QB. 'Spangles', (Howard Spangler) is expected to start the season as #1. Charles Hawkes remains but we are yet to see him in pre-season after two games, he spent much of last season as the starter.

Jeff Pickett moved on to Tasmania via trade, so we brought in Ryan Galvan and Andrew Morales to try out for the role. Morales looks to be the best kick holder of the four but the worst QB. Galvan is a fourth year UDFA, getting his first shot at making a roster and he did well in a 'very' limited role against Tasmania.

It's a situation that is causing concern for the Fields faithful. With a ton of cap room, should Anfield Road be investing in (trading for) a veteran QB?

No doubt a lot but looking back at it the fumbles were not lost so that not a turnover. And all the perps had sub 47 avoid fumble. Even with 100 the results are suspect .

And the interceptions were starting with a smaller faster guy with decent catch getting the first. The second was probably due to pressure on the blitz..... while 3 and 4 were both with overused plays early in the game. I did not look at the rest .

Sticking on the overuse as these most likely could have been avoided but that part makes the other teams skill ratings better . Not that it’s an excuse but passing a lot does result in a lot of ints pretty much no matter what you do. There only so many “ good “ pass plays to go around under this 4.6 code.

A lot of bad rolls as well ....hope your luck turns around!

Intriguing is an interesting word. That final quarter was interesting. Good luck this season, Admiral.

Good practice XXX.

Had that been a real game, I'd be down on it, but a lot was learned about my guys.

Best of luck in the reg season.

Sorry guys, Im cutting back on teams. Its been fun. Team is in good shape financially with a strong roster other than the secondary and some age at linebacker. Good luck. New owner will have to do some work on playcalling though

Good game, blackflys/Inmates. I dig your prison grays.

As far as the game goes, I'm speechless.
