Inside kick

I'm not sure if this is legal or not so I decided to ask the masses, lol. Can you do an inside kick after a safety? I've never seen it in real life but it happened to me in mfn last night. Might be legal and this thread can be ignored but I was wondering. Thanks

Yes... technically yes, but a fair catch can be called and the ball has to be touched by the opposing team because it is actually a punt rather than a kick.

If you punt it and the call a fair catch you have to give him space to catch it though. I guess you can kick a roller but I've never seen that ever. Interesting

The Lions successfully did it in 2014 vs the Packers, a Packer called fair catch but one of the others tried to catch it failing and thus a live ball.

That's just a fumble though right? Int lining up kicking it like a kicker like on mfn

happened in the MFN 68 Title game between Los Angeles (A) Charges and Detroit Lions.

That is inaccurate even the onside kick should be a punt after a safety :/

It's not required that you punt after a safety.

It's a "free kick", meaning you can kick it however you'd like.

Most teams punt because they can get enough hang time for the defenders to prevent a long return. If they had K who could boom it out of the end zone from the 20 they would probably kick.
