Just a couple of suggestions...

Sorry if these have already been mentioned but what about League Weekly Power Rankings and Players of the week? I don't really care what the format would be for choosing these things but they would be cool to see on the league home page.

The power ranking can kind of be done already in the overall team-stats on the league home page, but yeah this would be nice.

I would LOVE to see an NFL style players of the week too, nice fun addition to MFN.

+1

Week one my QB threw for 600 yards and 6 tds it would have been nice to see some recognition for a game like that. And for weekly and annual awards to show somewhere in the players card.

Yes I agree, it would be a fun addition. However I wouldn't want this to turn into a stat whoring game that becomes more about individual players rather than the teams

The way to deal with that is the individual player then demands an outrageous salary increase or holds out.

I still don't understand how "stat whoring" would negatively impact this game.

I understand the basic idea that an owner might care greatly about stats/awards, but I don't understand what negative impact this could have in MFN.

Who cares if an owner wants to have the leading rusher, or the player with the most sacks? What difference would that make?

Even if they changed their gameplan to somehow accomplish this feat, so what?

Even if they wanted this so bad that they were willing to not even try to win. I would think they would already be tanking in order to get a better draft pick. Besides, it's pretty clear that outright tanking is not frowned upon enough to do anything about it.

I can't imagine someone would care more about a particular player stat/award more than they would value a better draft pick.

But, if you can win AND have the MVP (for example), great for you.

I would see this as a positive addition to the game. It may even keep owners interested in their teams after they've been eliminated from playoff contention.

A big +1 from me.

Personally I don't want to have half a dozen owners or so, who only care about how many yards their HB or QB rack up in a season and not actually have a competitive team. These people do exist and is one of the reasons I'm here and not there.
There are far more pressing needs in this game than personal glories.

Gus,

Are you saying that you think some owners would abandon trying to win in order for a player to get an award, but wouldn't do so in order to get a better draft pick?

I'm still legitimately trying to understand why this would have a negative impact on MFN.

My opinion is that outright tanking is bad and should not be allowed. However, it is allowed so it happens in nearly every league.

Therefore, I don't see how having awards would increase the number of owners not trying to win, as I believe a better draft pick is much more incentive to lose than an award.

Again, I'm not trying to be argumentative. I am really trying to understand why you think this would have a negative impact on the way MFN is currently. If someone's willing to not try to win, they're already doing it. I obviously don't want to encourage something that would have a negative impact, but I just don't see it.
