Allocation Draft Trading

By Gustoon - League Admin

Can we not allow trading of draft picks in the allocation draft, for whatever reasons.
The draft picks are carefully set out that everyone has a good chance to land their fair share of marquee players.
If not banned totally, then possibly the first 20 rounds, personally I'd like to see all trades banned though.

Gustoon is suggesting this because in MFN66 we have a team that gave up a lot of draft value for very little return to one specific team.

I agree, when starting a new league, the allocation draft is fair to help all teams!
When draft is done you can trade.

Oooops, yes this is correct, thanks lellow

yeah I can see how that is going to work the same people who complain about people trading picks will have a heart attack when they see the players each team is trading to one another.

me thinks it is better for people to trade their draft picks in the allocation draft than trade the players they drafted in the allocation draft.

will say that just because the first time and the last time I will every do a allocation draft is the league MFN 66 I am in.

I had never done one before and knowing things now if I take a team I will wait until AFTER the draft and each team has their players to take one.

Nor will I even help the teams/players that I have experienced in the MFN 66 that really have given me a bad taste in my mouth in that I wanted to HELP people with their time issues not saying I should have or what I did was the right thing to do.

And to those people for future reference you might want to keep your comments that you posted in those threads to yourself so when someone does something like I did you will give them the benefit of the doubt and that the admin will say what needs to said to those people if he needs to say anything.

Just went to check out what Gustoon was talking about, as he usually has good sense and normally has a point. After those trades I agree with his idea.

I can understand that you wanted to help him but your logic is horribly flawed. Why not at least make it a fair trade? Why exclusively give him more value than you are getting in return. This could totally screw up the league.

I don't think this can be totally fixed but if JDB can swap the players back to the original owners of the picks that would be best for everyone. I would really like to see his input on situations like this.

Lets not make this thread into personal attacks.
The trades that happened in mfn66 are all above board, no one has broken any rules, but in the interests of common sense....Personally I would like to see in future allocation drafts this doesn't happen.
As a side question, so what if a NEW owner joins is he then subject to the same 30 day 'no trade' ruling? (JDB)

That happened to me. I am a new owner and could not initiate any trades.

I don't like this idea. I understand where you're coming from but this one atypical situation shouldn't ruin it for everyone else. There are people who use allocation draft pick trades legitimately to go after specific players they want to target or to move into more conveniently timed slots, and disallowing trades would ruin the allocation draft for such players.

Perhaps the trade balance meter should be updated to account for these situations.

Another good idea.

Just moving down in the draft within compensation should never be possible.
