Weather-related effects

Hey all...my apologies if this information is out there and I just missed finding it. Two questions...

1. What are the in-game effects for various weather conditions? For instance, I assume the wind plays some sort of influence with kickoffs, punts and FG/XP attempts (though I haven?t seen much of this if it does), but what about cold/heat as far as fatigue, rain on increased chances to fumble/decreased reception opportunities, snow on...well...everything..., etc?

2. How are weather conditions determined? I assume it is pulled from actual climatological data for the city the stadium is headquartered in and the time of year the game is listed as taking place during, but is this a correct assumption?

Weather does impact as you describe, but it is minimal. I have studied actual impacts of weather on games and it is more negligible than you might think.

Each season is assigned a random year from the past, and the day of the game gets it weather from Dark Sky (link in the footer) for what actually happened in that city on that day of the year.

JDavid: Can you tell us which year from the past is assigned so that we have access to the weather forecast? It might factor in game planning. Thanks.

I will eventually add a forecast to the games each week, which will accomplish that.

That's great. Meanwhile, are you able to have the AI list or call out the historical weather year for the current season for each league. For those GMs who want to do so, they can look up the weather forecast themselves. thanks.

No, because that would give an obscure hidden advantage to owners who happen to know about it.

I can't speak for other leagues, but in my own, I'd be happy to post and/or PM every other GM in my league about upcoming weather forecasts for each game. Then each GM would be on equal footing. I'd be willing to bet that for most leagues, if not all, one or more GMs would also do that.

Forecasts
and what weather it became
is NOT allways the same :)

Knowing weather FOR SURE in advance would be UNrealistic. I'm for realism... :)
