Really confused

So I took on a team With a 80 QB Good receivers and a solid offensive line and ran an offense where I passed the ball around 60% of the time. I finished 6-10 with an offense that around 20th in all major passing categories and near the bottom in rushing. I just looked at the 15-1 team in the the league who leads the league in passing with a 65 QB worse WRs than me and a line about as good as mine. I don't get it same with the run game. I find teams with players with no worse OVR doing so much better than mine. Are there some attributes that are OP I'm not exploiting? Really need help.

Short answer, yes. The default weights do not reflect the reality of the game, and one of the most important steps to improving yourself in MFN is to begin to set your own custom weights. Look around the league(s) at who the most successful users are and what type of players they like. Look at the league leaders at each position. What are some commonalities between them? Look at your own team. At RB, your third string back Gregory is outperforming your starter by a 1.2 YPC and his back-up by 2.5 YPC. What are some of the attributes he has that they don't?

Next, a great deal of success is predicated on learning what plays succeed and which don't. You can learn this yourself through trial and error, or take a short cut and look at what some of the more successful teams are calling. It also helps to go into the game logs, look at what play was called by both sides, then click the link to watch it live. You can then get a much clearer idea of why a play succeeded or failed.

Finally, keep current on the forums. People are constantly discussing strategy and ideas.

Edit: Oh, and check out the MFN Tonight broadcasts, they contain a lot of helpful info on the game, plus you can ask your questions live when the shows are running!

Quick look At the league leaders and I'm still confused. All the RBs toward the top just have pretty much everything maxed out. Also my RB situation was weird last year. My starter was hurt twice this season so his numbers should be nerfed a bit (another thing I can't see how an injury affects a players OVR to make the decision to play or bench them) and my backup was picked up in the middle of the season and didn't know the playbook. And QBs there are no real attributes that guys at the top have that are better than my guy besides top speed which shouldn't matter much for a QB. Also where do find a MFN broadcast? And how can you see which plays are most successful for other teams?

First and foremost - Speed matters at every position. It's more vital at some positions more than others, but it is important.

As for looking at film - There are 3 icons next to the score of each game. The first is game film (watch the game). The second is play log (view each play that was called in each situation). The last is game summary (see the stats for the players and the scoring).

Look at the MFN Tonight Forum. It will have links to the youtube channel so that you can watch the broadcasts.

+1

Maybe the #1 thing new owners need to know in order to begin building a competitive team.

Attributes are important as mentioned above, however, sometimes guys are just players even with not so great attributes.

This guy only played when my #1 and 2 RBs went down. Wouldn't have figured it out until he got on the field.

He has enough speed and ball carrying and great strength : some key attributes for a running back.
