I am probably going to change the ability to move a player to just any other position to prevent that kind of gaming of the system. (As a side-note, if you have players currently in bad positions once this is deployed you won't be able to switch them back!) I am also working on some logic where players will become unhappy and will not stay with an owner who does not use them correctly, to help mitigate the success of this type of action.

Does this mean we will no longer be able to switch a player from like LG to LT or WR to HB and such. A lot of times i will sign a FA or draft players and change their positions and I have never done it to manipulate the game or to try and lose.

Hopefully not. I just drafted a WLB that was a better rated FS!

I'm guessing (hoping) it will be based on Max Potential?

That makes no sense. By your logic it would be ok to have a league with half the teams owned by cheaters because the rest of the owners would know they are cheats.

If cheaters aren't banned that will encourage more cheaters to play this game.

People who cheat usually cheat for one reason and one reason only. To get top draft picks! If you take away top draft picks(1st 2nd and maybe even a 3rd) I doubt they continue to cheat because what would be the point! This is the logic behind my thought process. If I created a game I would actually find it somewhat funny that someone thought my game is important enough to cheat in.

The reason people cheat is to win. If they have a cheats mentality they would try to find a cheating method that would help them win without the draft picks. They will always cheat.

When I had a lot of injuries my best remaining guard was a Tight End so I hope its just stopping players on defense being used on offense and vice versa.

Yes, that's the plan. If you can change a player's position while increasing his max potential, or decreasing it no more than 10 points (that's what I'm thinking right now) below his max potential, you can make the move. This would also be based on the default weights, not your weights, so you can't get around it by changing your player weights to make it work.

this is ridiculous,

he just joined mfn30 and has two teams there as well.

Should not be allowed for one person to be in the same league under any circumstances.

What about stair stepping? As a qb say 60 .. Then a rb say 54 .. Then as a c at 48 ... Etc..

Good point parsh, I would imagine it would be set up by his original position? Yes?

Maybe have a players weight be a factor as well. As in no 230lb DL/OL or 190lb LB's etc.

Is this person going to continue owning duplicate teams in future years?

I see he has registed for the next season in many leagues.

I see NO reason why all of these teams are not turned over the the AI immediately. At LEAST the "additional" teams created in order to cheat.

At this point, other than forum "shame", there seems to be no disincentive for cheating.

This owner has gotten away with it as far as I'm concerned. He's still going to get the #1 (or very high) pick in the MANY leagues he is in.

It really bothers me that behavior such as this is allowed to take place in MFN. And by allowed, I mean that the person caught doing this is not banned and teams taken away immediately.

I'm not sure how much longer I am going to be interested in continuing to play a game where cheaters are caught and allowed to remain.
