Grading out players

Hey guys
I'm interested in what you place as the 3 most important ratings as you grade out each position?

Wondering if there is some general agreement or not?

Lets start with skill positions Qb, Rb, Wr

This can vary greatly depending on each owner's preferences and how they are trying to build their team. Also what type of coaching style / offense / defense you are going to have.

For example:

I have a particular dislike for holding penalties by my OL. Therefore, I probably place more importance on discipline for the OL than other owners.

I read before that intelligence impacts how quickly a player progresses, and learns the playbook. I used to place a high importance on this, but I'm not so sure about that anymore, as most of my picks seem to regress instead of progress.

It seem that a lot of players value speed more than anything else when it comes to RB, WR and DB. Obviously not ONLY speed, but it is important.

To be honest, I've been thinking about completely re-doing my player weights because it seems that my better performing players aren't necessarily my highest rated players.

QB's: Pass Accuracy, Arm Strength, Pass Release.

I am not sold on Look off Defenders and Field Vision as I have some very good QB's that still throw ***** into double and triple coverage when there is a slot receiver crossing his vision wide open. I also havnt noticed much on Intelligence factoring in on most player positions, specially at QB.

Scramble also is very low for me as i actually dont want my QB taking off running all the time, see it way to much with QB's with a high skill at it dropping back and turn around and just run without a pass rush or at least looking at the field, also hate it when my QB takes off and runs on 3rd and long for like 2 yards.

HB: Speed, Acceleration, Ball Carrying and Pass Catching

Honestly havnt noticed a big difference in Break Tackle and Avoid Fumble as I see mediocre HB's breaking all kinds of tackles and HB's with 99/100 in Avoid Fumble lead leagues with well over 10 fumbles.

WR: Pass Catching, Route Running, Pass Receiving Courage, Speed in that order

I would ultimately love to have WR's with blazing speed and acceleration but they need to catch those ***** in traffic first.

I also am with WarEagle and think a player with High intelligence would be more adept to atleast pick up the plays more quickly thus helping the team as a whole in doing so but I have seen nothing that shows me that Intelligence effects much in the game. I have dumb mediocre players play just as well as smart mediocre players. Just not seeing the effect of being smart on a player.

Now with that being said i still like to draft looking for Speed and Intelligent players just in case...lol

For me yes i like it but I would take it after speed.

Pass receiving courage is the counter to a db's Punish Receiver attribute - if a DB and WR are on a collision course as the ball is coming in, those attributes have their greatest impact on whether the pass is complete or not. So, passes "in the middle" will have a much higher likelihood of having a receiver on a collision course with a DB (or linebacker) that should cause this attribute to come into play more often than patterns that don't go across the middle.

I have a problem with my highest rated qb who actually plays a lot worse than my 2nd one. I see a lot of dump off and short passes. He is better in every category, including discipline, so i Wonder if discipline makes him stick with what is called by the coaches, whereas my other qb seems to be more of a free thinker. Any idea ?

I'm not sure, but shouldn't QB's have a higher Intelligence level than 12 and 23 respectively?

Could that say anything?
