League administrators can manually delay their league sim.
I have already done so for at least 1 sim, as our league has (had) a game tonight's sim.
In my post to the league, I mentioned that it was possible an additonal manual sim delay may be required in order to permit all owners to make any desired changes.

There is absolutely no need for JDB to withold implementing the removal of the 2 plays.

It is unfortunate that these actions do absolutely nothing regarding the negative play familiarity bug - which impacts over 70% of the defensive plays available.

Honestly, y'all will just move on to the next broken defensive play - I listed the "Big 5" - now Big 4 haha - in the "update the engine or I quit" thread.

Considering nothing has been done to actually provide relief from or to address the negative play familiarity bug, the current solution of removal will be a short term fix.
Until players discover the next broken play familiarity D play to abuse.
...and JDB has to remove that one.
And then the community moves on to the next broken d play with the bug,
..and then JDB removes that one?

Like a snake eating it's tail.
Fix the bug.
That's the only solution to prevent future recycling of abusive/expliotive bahaviors.
It's important to note even the AI is explioting the play familiarity bug due to the play matrix bug.

Y'all were SQUIRRELED!
Misdirection achieved.

It's easy to put overuse on all plays, however back when overuse was being beta tested we found that this caused offenses to become too strong near the end of games because in order to have enough balance in the playbook for various situations (short yardage or long yardage situations, for example) the bread and butter plays that should not need penalizing would break down.

Gotcha! Thanks for replying.

Well, then why not get rid of the rest of them now too and save some time? I think if you want to prevent any of that in the first place, that's where I'd start, if it is determined that overuse is too powerful for the offense for said plays.

JDB is doing the reasonable thing by removing just this play. I don't have time to run the numbers but it's silly the difference in stats.

Its a good start agreed. It will remove the problem right now with the current engine. Which will even things out for the most part.

Do any of you think this will open up long passes again?

No. But it makes short passes more usable which is where the yards are. See the data I posted.
