WR / CB speed thing

I am seeing rosters full of tons of WR and CB, almost the entire roster. This is disappointing and obviously unrealistic. I assume this is the speed hack. Can you win without doing this?

If you are referring to the Death & Destruction League then you must be aware the league was created with no rules.

The league is a tester league where owners try different things outside the box to stress the sim. All this is explained in the league forums.

As far as can you win other ways? Yes you can.

Run the ball, limit passing and avoid all long passing, have a great kicker and punter and play 2000 Ravens or 1985 Bears type defense.

If no rules upsets you then quit the league...everyone who joined prior to the allocation draft knew what this league was. Not all leagues are for everyone so bad mouthing the league in the main forums makes no sense.

Speed & Accell have always being sought after as far as I know....very much the same in NFL & NCAA, so I don't know if I'd call it a "hack" as such. I don't know of a league that restricts for how fast your players can be, what I do dislike is being told I can't play a WR at RB, or a RB at WR etc, if those type of restrictions are imposed by a league admin, then they should be consistent and not allow CB's play S, LBs play DE, DE play DT etc.

I just don't agree with someone telling me where I can & cannot play my players....anyways, I digress....

LOL how did I bash the league, did you read what I wrote? I didn't even name it, you did. I don't care that I lost in the least, I have no idea what I'm doing as I'm new. All I'm trying to do is learn the game. If I can't figure out how to have some success I won't keep playing. I'm disappointed in the game mechanics that allow this to be an advantage. I do hope the MFN community is a welcoming one however. :(

I don't disagree with that at all. Players gain or lose weight based on position assignment correct? So ideally the 'correct' weight for a position should be an advantage or at least neutral to me.

o you didn't name the league and that's wasn't my point. The league was created by me with the clear intention to stress the code (version 4.6).

It's my reaction to the new version (4.6) being released despite the fact the passing game is broken. It was said, this version fixed the size/speed exploit and the punt Block exploit. That was based on 12 season across 4 different leagues using the bleeding beta game engine.

I created and admin 2 other leagues that are playing season 21 & 22 and I've always instituted rules to stop owners from using the commonly known exploits. When 4.6 was pushed on us, it was with claims that there would be no need for custom rules....I created the Death & Destruction League with the sole purpose to either prove those claims true or false.

You joined Death & Destruction during the season after the allocation draft so I wanted you to know what you had signed up for. It's not a typical league and the many WR/CB rosters is to test those claims.

If you are new to the game, you shouldn't judge MFN in general based on this extreme league...in addition the injury sliders have been set to zero so the data could be processed quickly and without the hindrance of pesky week to week injuries.

My point was simply this....all the other owners joined with full knowledge that this league wasn't a normal league and they all joined with that in mind.

Once I define the exploits available in this version...I will use the info to create custom rules for my 20+ season leagues where stats and league history are closely tracked and followed.

I see you are in one of those, the Quick and the Dead plus League of Legends and several other quality leagues so I wanted you to be clear on the difference.

Many league administrators removed custom rules when we switched from version 4.5 to version 4.6 but soon those custom rules will return because those claims of exploits being fixed is turning out to be quite false.

I'm sorry if you took my post as being rude or ignorant but I needed to make the distinction about what the league is all about. If you stay or go is entirely up to you but know that I've spent 100 if not 1000s of hours creating and maintaining my leagues.

Thanks for the clarification CJ. I wasn't aware of the extremes of that league in particular.
