When i look for secondary players I will always take in mind the speed and acceleration before m2m, specially when it comes to bench players. Even with top of the league CB's passes are completed way to easy against them so I like to make sure I have the speed to avoid the big play.

I think an increase in the amount a QB is pressured still needs to be addressed and the more he is during the game the more his accuracy should be affected. Still see way to many perfect passes from QB's being chased or pressured in pocket IMO

I'm new around here, but I have noticed something that may be contributing to the high passing totals.

On many teams accross the three leagues I'm playing in. I see folks playing CBs with ratings that look good...but. To me a 68 CB should be good...right? But the you look closer and these guys have a top speed of like 41 and exceleration of 22 or something. Yeah their MM skill is near 100 and their zone coverage is as well. But come on, How they gonna cover a WR with 100 speed and 98 excel. on a deep pass. CBs need to be fast. Or am I missing something here?

You are not missing anything, in fact that's a very good observation - MM skill is the ability to stay with the receiver when he makes his cut (it is essentially the opposite of the route running skill) but his speed is still going to limit whether he can keep up at all. I would even suspect that a faster CB with lower MM skill would be able to overcome that against a slower WR, as he might get out of position when the WR makes his cuts but would be able to recover more quickly because of his speed. Of course, the QB may hit the WR during that time that the CB is out of position.

This is also why YAC are so high, if the WR gets the ball with a break and his Ball carrying is decent he will run away from the slow backfield player. Normally you will see the fast line backers catch them because this is what people are favouring. IMO of course.

I agree, which makes me think there is nothing "overpowered" about the WRs. Instead, there just aren't enough good/fast DBs.

I've found that an average (or even below average) WR can dominate in this game as long as he has great speed and ball carrying due to the lack of quality players in the secondary on most teams.

WR aren't overpowered, but a below average one can dominate the game...
Umm?
Also could we come back to the idea of nerfing the break tackle of QB's? ( and WR to a lesser amount)
I'd love to see a bit of balance for the defense. Could we ever say a blue chip Dline man has dominated a game once in this season?

I was going to wait on comment on this after the season but I'll do it now. I think there are multiple reasons why offenses (and the passing game) are rolling so hot right now. As noted, you need to be careful when making adjustments because its not a single thing that is the variable.

These are my observations with my MFN-1 Carolina team:
-I have two stud DE's (high 90's) that generate pressure (I think) but have the lowest sack total of my long career in MFN. Not sure why that is but I'd like to see QB pressures added to help me understand what is going on.
-OL seem to hold their pass blocks way too long vs. top tier pass rushers. Again, I have 2nd tier tackles high 70's mostly stalemating my stud DE's more often than not.
-I lost my long time top shelf CB last year but I carried two fast stud corners for awhile that were in the 90's as well/ They typical where close to the top in INT's but still had tons of passes completed on them. Even against mid-tier WR's they would still allow around a 40% completion rate. A mid 90's CD should dominate a mid 70's WR more than what is going on right now.
-More coverage should be given when there are two or more players on the WR. Its not clear how much harder it is to complete a pass against double coverage than single. Having a safety coming that can close on a route along with a CB should be a difficult pass to complete. I don't show many passes broken up by my safeties.
-This goes both ways. I have one stud WR who puts up great games but the next tier down for me are almost as good in terms of production if I put them in the WR1 spot.
-I don't think the CB quality is the whole issue, it is some, but my CB's are fast and can cover and they cant dominate a lower tier player. Speed only shows up on the deep routes and for pursuit after a blown tackle.

My suggestions for next season:

-I'd revisit the OL/DE pass blocking and see if a small tweak opens the pass rush back up.

-Look close at double coverage and what that does to the catch %

Those are two small things that can be tweaked with out breaking everything at once.

Good thoughts - I will make this a point of emphasis for the 2023 season.

MFN-1, that is (just noticed this is in the general forums and not the MFN-1 forums)
