On many teams accross the three leagues I'm playing in. I see folks playing CBs with ratings that look good...but. To me a 68 CB should be good...right? But the you look closer and these guys have a top speed of like 41 and exceleration of 22 or something. Yeah their MM skill is near 100 and their zone coverage is as well. But come on, How they gonna cover a WR with 100 speed and 98 excel. on a deep pass. CBs need to be fast. Or am I missing something here?

exactly what i have seen but shhhh dont tell people, some good cb's go low in draft.

They can also play in press with adequate pass rush in the team...
Though I didn't see much of that happened in the sims. :)

You are not missing anything, in fact that's a very good observation - MM skill is the ability to stay with the receiver when he makes his cut (it is essentially the opposite of the route running skill) but his speed is still going to limit whether he can keep up at all. I would even suspect that a faster CB with lower MM skill would be able to overcome that against a slower WR, as he might get out of position when the WR makes his cuts but would be able to recover more quickly because of his speed. Of course, the QB may hit the WR during that time that the CB is out of position.

This is also why YAC are so high, if the WR gets the ball with a break and his Ball carrying is decent he will run away from the slow backfield player. Normally you will see the fast line backers catch them because this is what people are favouring. IMO of course.

I agree, which makes me think there is nothing "overpowered" about the WRs. Instead, there just aren't enough good/fast DBs.

I've found that an average (or even below average) WR can dominate in this game as long as he has great speed and ball carrying due to the lack of quality players in the secondary on most teams.

Well then throw in some good game planning to take advantage of these miss matches every two or three games. And 2 thousand yard receivers should be expected until GMs pay attention. True these are not consistant with NFL stats. But we don't always have NFL GMs. It's going to have an effect. And I'm sure these are not the only positions effecting things.

Oh...Being new here. What is 0 max speed? Can this guy even move?

Great looking DT in one of my drafts...but 0 speed ...I'll make him a CB....HeHe

Ha, there is a floor so 0 just means he'll be the slowest player on the field.

Exactly my opinion! Well said.
