Yeah, I think so too. Started losing interest when my QB yards per attempt is like 3, I throw like 5 TD passes and 25 picks a year, my fullback leads the team in receptions, get no sacks, and these players want like 30 mill to resign. The drafts have terrible players, too. You got young RBs, WRs, and DBacks with speed ratings at like 30 or less. Or a WR with a pass catching rating of 20. How are you a WR and can't catch the ball? Then you have three teams going 16-0. I don't understand it. I don't mind losing games, but the game play has gotten downright awful. A much improved version needs to come out soon.

Are you by any chance using default weights for your player evaluations?

I don’t know. Whatever the player card ratings are I use.

Not that it will solve all your problems, but adjusting your stat weights so they're more relevant to the game engine will make it easier for you to evaluate your players.

This is my starting QB

As you can see, he's rated much higher by my weights, than he is by the default game weights.

The default weights will basically tell you which player has the most combined stats that are in some way useful for a position. It won't tell you, that Attribute A is MUCH more important for his performance than Attribute B.

So already at that point, you're facing an up-hill battle.

Edit: I forgot about the contracts. The lazy way of doing contracts is just putting everything to minimum, then see what the minimum bonus he'll accept is. Send that bonus with minimum possible wage and you'll not have to worry about the cap at all, even with a fair amount of dead cap every year. I've had 20m dead cap every season so far and we're still not above 180m total cap. :)

There are some great leagues in this game....full of highly competitive owners with rich history....These leagues have Hall of Fames and draft reviews plus much more.

Just search out the leagues with active admins that keep things fresh with added content in the forums.

When it comes to the cap....The 1st 5 to 6 years are fairly easy but after 10 seasons when the cap has grown....players start asking for ridiculous bonuses and it becomes much harder to keep everyone plus sign free agents.

As far as owning 1 team versus multiple teams....everyone has different amounts of time to invest in this game. Personally, if I only ownerd 1 team.....I would be bored to death. I wouldn't recommend picking up multiple teams at the same time but adding teams over time is easily managed.

I agree with a lot of what has been said so far. In my opinion:
1. Gameplay has gotten stale/predictable.
2. No penalties for player overuse or play overuse that seem to have an impact
3. Injuries seem to be rare. I’ve played around 40 seasons...I think I’ve used IR twice. Takes away the realism that I think a lot of us want with total roster mgmt.
4. Too many leagues.
On this point, I think initially the game should give you access to one team for the first season. Learn how the game works. At the end of season 1, give them access to a second team. And then from there, either a winning record or playoff berth unlocks additional teams. And if an owner bails on a team in mid season, reduce their total team count by 1. We are diluted with leagues, making it easy for new owners to jump around if their initial team doesn’t play well. I’m sure there are 100s of flaws with this, but this is just an idea to work from.
5. Make adjustments to eliminate game exploits like punt block quickly. This can frustrate new owners who don’t know the override system and can’t understand how they gave up 4 blocks in a game. Too easy to frustrate them and cause them to move on.
I’m at 4 teams right now, and it’s a challenge to find time to game plan/draft prep for all of them consistently. I don’t know how the guys with 10 plus teams do it.

I'd go bananas with only 1 team. I'm always wanting more. I'm in a few leagues and i love each and everyone, It may take a few leagues to find the right ones. Each team is a different story from complete rebuilds to competitive team and everything in between. Sometimes i'll join a league just to help out get them in good standing order and let them go. But i can tell you with 100% certainty none of my teams get less attention than any other. I know i can't speak for all, everyone has their own lives and time to play. But that's my 2 cents and defense of any owner with multiple teams.
once i'd learned and implemented more than the basics all my teams are at least competitive within a few years and especially financially sound which ive started from scratch best way to go. taking over teams at least for me is not interesting enough. everyone's different though

I have played off and on for the past few years. Enjoyable, not much has changed. There are a lot of zombie leagues or leagues created that die one or two years after there created. The time and effort in an allocation draft, game planning, etc. then the league die, is frustrating. The drafts seem lately to be skeletal remains. Very few players that really can turn around a team with a first round pick.

The biggest complaint I have now, is that the website interface doesn’t seem to be working on the Apple IPad very well. I have to make multiple refresh attempts to set game plans, can’t change my depth chart at all. I play on an IPad, if it continues to be frustrating to maintain teams, etc. on an Ipad I’ll unfortunately be moving on.
