0.4.5: and if he could work something in where a FS coming across the field would take a proper pursuit angle to try and prevent the long TD, that'd be good too! :)

Uh, no but nice try. I recall something you posted recently and everyone who saw it stated there was nothing wrong with the DB behavior/pursuit angle. This is more of a losing mentality wanting protections put in place to safeguard against bad defensive plays that are being used or defensive players that got beat on the play.

Offensive player that busts open and is in the clear = play over, strategy worked.

I guess I'll have to find a replay from a real game that shows what I'm talking about.

And if we really are going to debate this play you posted a T. The receiver raced out and was way ahead of the pack. Your defender came in to angle and cut him off but was left in the dust and never had that angle to cut in on him because the length of space between the receiver streaking and him way behind the play was so immense that even Usain Bolt wouldn't have been able to track it down.

Here's an example of strives being made and in this case, probably too far:

https://mfn67.myfootballnow.com/watch/4355#766599

My 93 speed playmaker has burst through for a long run, now in v4.2 it's an unquestionably TD. In this case, a very fast DE but a DE nonetheless tracks him down. Kinda crazy but that's ok.

In v4.2, there were no track downs. Now, there's measures in place. Receivers stop and catch the ball, make diving catches. Calculations are put in place to slow 'em up upon the catch and as you're seeking there's better cuts/angles by the defenders to track down playmakers.

v4.2, track downs were null/never happened or rare or essentially only for the slow receivers to get caught.

v4.4, see above. Improvements have been made.

So what is the completion percentage now in the beta league? And how many seasons have been simmed with the new code? What kinds of adjustments are coaches making? Are you getting accurate seasonal stats that look somewhat NFL-like? How could you possibly know if it's working well?

I dont think the completion percentege is the problem. In the most games it has been quite high, the passes have been completet in the range of +3 to -2 yards...

Also the problem of unrealisitic offense performences of subpar players hasnt been solved. A sub 80 QB who throws for 5500 yards is still in the books. As long as he doesnt throw to WRs. In one of my 4.4 leagues receiving stats: 6 out of 10 players are TEs and RB (including the top two - which are TEs). After the top 10 its still mostly TE and RB, NO. 11 is a FB. Not very realistic.

So if you just use the "right" plays you can have a Trent Dilfer QB who throws Drew Brees career best numbers. Jerry Rice however, wouldt catch a cold.

@jgcruz you have seen more versions i guess, i have seen 4.2, 4.3 and 4.4. Because of said reasons i think 4.4. is by a far margin the worst one (at least the players with the most REC Yards have been WRs before). But i guess you also think that Gruden and the Raiders cheatet by trading away Mack an Cooper this year, right ;-)? I mean with that moves it has been clear that it wasnt about winning now, and it affects the other Teams because with those players the raiders would have won more games and the Bears and Cowboys less...

0.4.3 is the worst release out of the 3. The TE shouldn't have 2,500 - 3,000 receiving yards, while the QB has 6,000 - 9,000 passing yards. That's just ridiculous.

0.4.2 was the best, but it wasn't perfect.

0.4.4 is being worked on. JDB is actively working on the next release.

Stop getting into pissing contests with each other. It doesn't help and you don't feel better afterwards.

Be patient. Stay with the game, if you enjoy it. It'll change. It'll keep changing.

Yeah? Well here's an example of what I'm talking about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsZCTzYNBQE

Brady gets picked, ball is going back the other way for a TD, only a receiver, coming clear
across the field, cuts him off at the goal-line by taking a pursuit angle where he comes in and hits him from the side, not an angle where he gets behind him and just follows him into the end zone. Defensive backs do this too, of course. Not often, it's always a highlight play when someone does it, but it can happen - in real life. From what I've seen watching the long TD passes, the DBs coming across the field don't take a proper angle where they have a chance to do this in-game.

Edited for politeness sake.
