Hot Reads are BS

I swear the game cheats for some teams with hot reads just to keep them in the game. I had a team put up 470 passing yards half of which came from hot reads. My teams get blitzed all the time but I rarely see my team call a hot read. Yet I have had opponents teams do it within the first 3 plays from scrimmage. And they almost always go for 70 plus yards and a TD. Hot reads need to be toned down.

I have experienced this as well. I recently lost a close game where the opposing team had three touchdowns of over 60 yards on these types of plays. It cost me a playoff spot. I have a 90+ quarterback and he never makes hot reads, he just gets sacked.

Depends how many bkitzers as well. I think hot reads require an open receiver with no one assigned to him in coverage

Yes, hot reads happen when you overuse a blitz that leaves a player uncovered. Sometimes you can gain a big advantage with a blitz, but if you live by the blitz you also open the door to die by the blitz.

Check your QB's Intelligence, guys. It plays a part in hot reads.

The QB for the other team who kept hot reading has an intelligence of 52. So it's not Intelligence.

I think all of the below contribute:

QB intelligence
+
familiarity w/ the defensive play
+
frequency that play has been called by the D
+
if the offense scouted that play

But I have also seen hot reads called in the first couple plays of the game. There is no way the defense was called too many times at that point.

Not to mention I have RB's out run my defense with only a 50 speed. My guy's would run right up to the back of him, but rather then make the tackle they just follow him to the endzone.
