LOL

Earlier on in this thread, particularly, there were a few pontificating deeply on the game and their profile indicated having been playing since December or later. I'm all for everyone having an opinion and vocalizing but to breeze in with an air of knowing it all versus short time frame.

Heres the thing everyone seems to be ignoring. This game/sim is about owning a francise, managing the roster and salary cap across multiple seasons through the draft and free agency. We all use player weights to evaluate each position and most build our team, improve at key positions and replace aging players as they decline and retire.

You have draft picks 3 years out and can sign players up to 6 years out which allows you to prepare a plan for how to manage the cap and build your roster.

The last 3 seasons in every league that I am in has been played under a different version. Each version has different positions which are important to the success of the team and each version has different player weights for each position. It becomes increasingly difficult to manage your roster across the scope of 3 seasons when what is important changes every season.

I said it before and i will say it again, changing versions should be a slow, involved process first explored in beta before being released game wide. Thats the problem.......too much change....too quick. 4.4 should never have been released and everybody knows it because it barely lasted a season before 4.5 came out. 4.5 probably wasnt ready either but something had to be done about 4.4 in a hurry.

FULLY BETA TEST VERSIONS BEFORE RELEASE

thank you

Totally agree with you. The roller coaster of which attributes play critical roles to players had been annoying. Mostly the QB spots.

Take it a step further, when a new version is released, there should be a completely separate thread by the developer on what changes to expect and what aspects (game and player) that are affected the most. I appreciate the threads by players explaining the new version but it’s slightly biased. I want a more specific explanation of the changes without having to search through beta threads

Its easy to come on here and say, just change your gameplan, adapt, ita more realistic or whatever but when you have invested 7 seasons worth of time into a francise, honed in your player weights and realized under 4.3 you needed 2 +90 WRs on the outside to score plus on defense 2 +90 CBs on the outside to match up against your opponent. Then you hit free agency, the draft or the trade market and spend bigtime to acquire those players over the coarse of several seasons.
Then 4.4 comes out and in an instant those WRs become almost irrelevant meaning any idiot CB could cover them. Im talking beast WRs that put up multiple +1000 yard seasons with double digit TD catches reduced to 28 catches and 250 yards in 4.4
So then you adjust, figure it out and the passing game goes through the RB and TE so on defense the MLB becomes key but his player weights are radically different. So my MLB who I thought was good.....isnt so I go into the next offseason looking for quality TEs and pass catching RBs and I have to change my linebacking corps to reflect the change in version.
Now 4.5 comes out and I have to adjust again what positions are important and what weights are best for each position.
Its too much change, too soon for a football sim that should last for many seasons. Owners have played over 15 seasons in some leagues but at no time should 3 different versions span the time to play 3 seasons. Use Beta to get out the bugs so we dont dind ourselves in this mess again. No matter what any of you think, we have lost owners due to 4.4 and 4.5 and nobody wants that. This game needs owners to survive

Oh one more thing.........for those that say Im being negative or say people whine in the forums, its free after all and JDB doesnt get enough credit.

YOU may play for free but I love this game, I have spent hundreds of dollars buying credits in support of this game. I customize the **** outta my teams, rename players and in the league I admin, customized the entire league.

JDB has created a game I not only love but a game I am happy to financial support in a small way. If you really want to show your support, buy credits, become a league admin or create a new league

My comments in the forum are constructive criticism that I hope Jdb takes the right way from someone that totally enjoys what he has created and hopes to see it further improve in the future

How many injuries were there? Cause Washington lost two qbs . ...... That would be more like 6 serious injuries here to one team. Never gonna happen . It won't even happen to both teams in one contest here.

Whether my analysis of 4.5 was valid or valued, I was attempting to move the debate away from generalized whining . . . and towards what specifically needs attention from JDB. The concerns voiced in beta about this version (some by you guys) weren't making it to where all the other newbs could read them. I think I accomplished that, with a little help from both you guys. So thank you, guy #1 and guy #2. I appreciate being put in my place.

I believe I had 4 injured going in, 15 by the end, so net 11. 7 worse than probable, no QBs though. It was the LC, so I got them all back before I had to play again. You'd have to ask Grandad how many of his wound up in the hospital.

I play questionable guys all the time and sit probable ones. The most serious injuries , the ones that force a guy to sit out , occur about half dozen times a season. The body bag game had 6 serious injuries on one team in one game.

I have 2 TEs who missed only 4 games total one season . Between them they had 7 injuries with 3 being serious . It may sound bad at first but when you look at the aftermath it no so bad imo. Once , I have heard of a team losing both starting qbs in one game here. Kicker/punters don't get injuries either.
