Dispersal draft contracts

Anyone else getting totally annihilated by these contracts? I cannot resign over half my team. Why are they almost all 2 year deals?

Drafted players should be getting 4 year deals. I don't have an issue with the rookie contracts. Some of the later round picks are a bad deal in year one, but you can correct that by restructuring the contract in season two.

Rookie deals are fine. But this league im in is in year two and almost my entire team was on two year deals from the dispersal draft, im losing half my team because of this.

You can start resigning them before the end of the season so the loss of players isnt a mass exodus.

I understand what you're saying now. Most of those contracts can be renewed without killing the cap. If load the contracts of players you know you will never cut with bonus money, you can usually stay under the cap. You are allowed to offer up to 75% of the contract in bonus money which drops the cap hit dramatically.

I had that happen once and it was fun! I wish I had to make decisions every single year like real NFL teams do! I ended up losing 3 players because I didn't outbid other teams during free agency

MFN48 - http://mfn48.myfootballnow.com/team/20 - I have all of one player that I rate a 67 or higher that is not signed for 4-6 seasons and I am going to be 75-80 mil under the cap. And this is a team with enough talent that the offense is putting up 591 yards of total offense per game.

Totally agreed. What's the point of the initial dispersal draft, if after two years two thirds of your team is gone?

With the way salaries work at present there should be no issue retaining every player if that's what you wish to do. I usually let a lot of the scrubs go and kill it in free agency that 2nd off season.

I actually had the opposite happen in Cus 35. I lost 2 great players and 3 good players.... 5 players in total because I didn't have the money to sign them...They became free agents and I was outbid on the 2 great players and the 3 good players free agent price tag became too step for me to even place a bid lol....I may be in the minority as far as this happening tho....I never negotiate contracts ...I usually sign for what the player ask....I just pick the years so I'm sure some savvy guys on here could've snuck in a few players here and there but my whole team pretty much became free agents all at once and once I resigned the majority of my main guys...I realized I didn't have anymore cap room and I had to wait until the next year to get more cap...which cause those 5 players to become free agents...overall it was fun and I wish I experienced it more often in this game...
