(Possibly) Premature 'Clinched Division' Message?

My team, the Tropico Llamas over at https://badcompany.myfootballnow.com/, have been declared the division champions. However, we've been picking our brains and can't figure out why the game would think that. There are seven games remaining in the season, and I'm up by five games on the second-place Denver Panthers, who are my opponents in the next game.

If I win this, then definitely, I've clinched it, but if they win this, they're down only four games with six to play, which would be a heck of a catch-up but it's entirely possible. Since the server's not far from ticking over, here's a screenshot of the current situation:

I'll also add that, if it is a bug, it's not because I'm supposed to have 'clinched playoff' instead, as there's a couple second-placers in the conference who are only a game or two behind me.

The "clinched" and "eliminated" functions have been incorrect for many seasons.

I see that improving the clinch logic is now "in development."

Not so fast Moonpygg! Someone else can check this out, but I think there's a glitch in the playoff picture algorithm. The Knights still have to win one of their two remaining games to clinch. If they don't, Pittsburgh can still get in the following way:

1. Knights lose 2 ending at 9-7.
2. Ironmen win 2 ending at 9-7. Should win t-b vs Knights via head to head.
3. Assassins lose at least one of two remaining games, end at 8-7-1 or worse.
4. Federals lose at least one of two remaining games, ending at 9-7 or worse. If tied @ 9-7, Pitt wins the t-b of common opponents, 3-2 vs 2-3 (I think).

There also appears to several scenarios by which the Assassins can get in (win both remaining games (9-6-1), Knights lose both (9-7), Federals lose at least one (9-7 or worse).

So, at this point it appears that neither Pitt nor NJ should be considered eliminated. NY still has to win one game to settle the 4.5 Conference or things are still up in the air.

WooHoo! Assassins went from absolute bottom of the league, to "we can screw up your wild card chances" in just one season. Our eventual ambition is to not ****.
