Player selected the deal for $942K. I know that the bonus I offered was more than the total value of the contract he agreed to, and I suspect the same was true for the $8.5M offer. My understanding from prior JDB explanations is that the deciding factor for free agents is the total amount of bonus money offered. Based on that filing this in the bug forum.

This signing was just wrong, needs to be looked at and fixed.

Most likely the larger offers didn't fit under the cap for the respective teams which will cause the player to reject it automatically once you're past late free agency.
