MFN 8 it shows Dallas is eliminated from playoff contention .

Dallas is 9-6.

Detroit Lions , Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants are 10-5.

Detroit faces Dallas , Minnesota faces Pittsburgh and New York faces Philadelphia in the 16th week of the season.
If Detroit , Minnesota and New York all lose they would be 10-6 and Dallas would be 10-6 if they win their last game and think Dallas would get the playoff spot because of a better conference record over the other 3 teams.

Here is that picture as promised.

The 3-way tie is actually kind of complicated - the first tiebreaker is not the conference record. I've not looked at this particular situation but it is possible that a previous tiebreaker will eliminate Dallas. (Although it's not impossible that you are correct, there have been a few cases where the algorithm got it wrong for some reason)

Well when theres a 3 way tie breaker, the computer goes straight to the division record, then if the same, it goes throug every team stats such as PF, PA, DEF Turnovers, OFF Turnovers etc. so if 2/3 teams lead in those categories and the 3rd team didn't compare, then the 2 teams will advance.

Conference record is the 3rd tiebreaker for 3 or more teams:

1. Apply division tie breaker to eliminate all but the highest ranked club in each division prior to proceeding to step The original seeding within a division upon application of the division tie breaker remains the same for all subsequent applications of the procedure that are necessary to identify the two Wild-Card participants.
2. Head-to-head sweep. (Applicable only if one club has defeated each of the others or if one club has lost to each of the others.)
3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
