This is actually technically by design, the early free agency stages retain your previous year's free agents on your roster - you can see them by filtering by 'no current or pending contract.' The logic for this is because technically that's how it's treated in the NFL - i.e, what team does Von Miller play for? He is a free agent, but for all practical purchases he is still considered to be on the Broncos team. This also enables the ability to show if you sign a free agent from another team during early free agency you'll see in the transaction log what team you signed him from - this means that he was a free agent at the end of his contract for that team.

I hate this feature. My way around it is to cut all my pending FAs during the last stage of the season.

If there's a consensus that this is more of an annoyance than interesting info, I'll change it. Is there anyone who actually likes it the way it is now?

I personally wouldn't care if they still appeared on my roster page. I don't really use that page much except for checking my cap situation and during the season looking for any pending FAs I want to re-sign before the off-season.

The main issue I have with this is that those players still remain on your depth chart.

When preparing for the draft (or early FA), I review my depth chart to see where I have positions of need. I don't click on every player card to see if they are a FA or not, so there have been times when I have felt good at a position, only to later realize I am not.

I'd prefer it be removed. I've resigned the players I wanted back at that point.
