[Huge work]: Reference guide

Hi,

I have a suggestion but the work behind it is somewhat massive and I guess it should also include a reflexion on the contribution of anyone in the game.

I guess there should be an exhaustive document giving all the informations available to the "owners" on how the different part of the game works.

the getting started guide and tour are nice to begin with the game but I guess that seeing the depth you can go here (and I am not playing for more than a month) there a quantities of information that I don't know where to find or if any are available on this.

For example, I don't know precisely the number of players that you can have on your roster in each step of the season or I don't know if wounded players that I make take the field have an higher chance of getting further wounded and aggravating their status than healthy players. I don't know either if the wound reduce the performance on the field or if it just an assessment of the player ability to play or not...

Don't get me wrong either, I don't want a full disclosure of what is calculated in the sim. Not any details of the sim should be known and there are some fuzziness that are introduced by desing (for example how the potential of a players evolve with time) and I am perfectly fine with it. What I think should make the game better is a structured set of the what you are suppose to know as an owner so you know that what is not in there, or what is unclear there is designed to be out of your knowledge.

After 5 months I finally decided to read the tour. The coaching part. It should take some time to build a dynasty. The game version is .3. What is wriiten now will need to be rewrote at sometime. I would hate to limit ths game already. I'm 45 and still wont read directions before I do something. I would rather read forums which change as the game changes.

Well maybe a wiki is not a bad solution.

Well, I don't believe you need to go through a guide to play to the game and with that perspective the tour and get started description is a nice starter.

But deeper you go in the game deeper you need a reference to check what is modelled in the game, What is meant by the creator in his terminology and other details such as this. I would advocate not to have an exhaustive guide that new comer should read cover to cover but some kind of compendium that list what information is available to you.

For example, Is fatigue during the game taken into account during the training at midweek the next week? If it is, may I or may I not know at how much extent?

I absolutely agree and did at one point start building a wiki reference guide - we might be at a place where it makes sense to dust that off and allow contributions. The main reason I've not made this a priority is because I would rather expend my energies on getting the game to version 1.0 before building the documentation for it, especially given that there are a number of parts of the game that are still in flux. I would hate for there to be a large reference wiki that contains misinformation because it is missing features or explaining a complex process that has since been simplified (there are even a few blog posts that already do that).

Thank for your feedback.
Once I read it, I agree with you; it is better to wait for a stable version to come before going on the "reference guide" rather than release it now and bring along the update of it with the update of the game engine which should take more energy.
