Re: DB stats

One stat that I think would help us most in evaluating how our secondary are performing is Yards Per Catch, same as ypc for a receiver. Since the change to the last game version, the catch allowed %'s have gone up significantly, 10 -15%. It has become very rare to see a starting DB (60 or more thrown ats/season min) with a catch allowed % under 30. 30-39 is also pretty rare, most are in the 40-58 range, 60 and higher is a problem. It is hard to compare two DBs that have similar % catch allowed numbers. One may be getting beat deep a lot more than the other. Also TD's allowed would be good to know, same as TD passes for a QB. Those stats would also help us to select the player awards for leagues that do so. So would running blocks for OL.
But, there is a big difference between one DB who allows 55% with a ypc of 6.5 vs another DB who allows 45% with a ypc of 15. That stat is much more important to me compared to what their average is for returning an interception,or total yards returning ints (which is usually 0) if you need to use an existing stat column. Would really appreciate that stat being added if you could JDB. cheers, gdb

On the back of this I'd like to see sacks and INTs in the D plays listed

Not quite sure what you are asking there Gus. The sacks and intercepts by the DBs and all other positions are on your team stat page. And they also show when you click on the player's card and hit the view button. I guess what is throwing me is the "in the D plays listed", not sure what that means? The key stat in evaluating a DB atm is the catch allowed %, but that does not tell you what they are actually giving up. The ypc allowed is a crucial stat used in evaluating a DB. A 50% catch allowed % is not great, but if most of the catches allowed are short passes under 6 yds, that is better than 50% with half of the catches allowed in the medium & long pass range, along with TD catches allowed. From watching the games you can get a good idea about the DBs on your team, but for evaluating other players like FA's and trades, it would be great to have those stats already totaled and available. You can do it yourself, but you have to go through the game logs and total them up, which is very tedious and time consuming, there arent many who have that kind of time to do all that number crunching, which is what our puters are for, lol.

Sorry I meant on the actual D play card in your defensive play book.
