Point Differential

A point differential statistic somewhere would be nice, whether listed in Team Stats or on League Standings next to Points For/Against. This would help us evaluate teams easily.

do you mean ratio?
differential would be 67 for 48 against = 19 difference
ratio would be 67 for 48 against = 1.39 point ratio

No he most certainly means differential. The NFL always lists it even though it is very easy to calculate.

ok, i just think ratio is more important though

here's an example 2 different teams
lets say you're 6 games into the season

first team has 120 points for and 84 points against (average of own 20 pts a game, opp 14 pts a game)
second team has 78 points for and 42 points against (average of own 13 pts a game, opp 7 pts a game)

first team has a differential of 36 points but a ratio of only 1.43
second team has a differential of 36 points but a ratio of 1.86

both teams win by the same amount of points (6) on average and have the same differential but i would be pretty sure that the second team would be harder to beat since while they have a weaker offense (unless they've been going up against really good defenses) they have an amazing defense.

p.s. the ratio means they score x points for each point their opponent scores

I disagree that ratio is more important. It values defense over offense when they are both about equally important. Differential is much more useful because it shows both sides of the ball.
