Oh we know who we are and how bad we've been, but this is just too good to pass on. We usually take crumbs but this is the whole loaf.

As a Pats fan I can and will accept this punishment if this is now the standard that every team will be held up against for any violations or illegal activities. This should set a standard now for all 31 other teams as well when it comes to breaking any rules.

Oh aye, parity is all good with me too. What I find hard to stomach is Mr Brady's contempt and arrogance in the investigation, uncooperative? Yes definitely.
As a Jets fan it pains me to say what an absolute and consummate professional he is...or was and its a shame that he thought so little of the rules of the NFL which are absolutely crystal clear that he thought he could get away with it.

To me it doesn't make a jot of difference between 12.5 - 13 psi but to someone at the top of his game, it does. Did it make any difference against the Colts in that game? We'll never know.

If I were Mr Brady, unless I was 100% clean would not appeal and just take it on the chin and accept the findings. Of course he's now brought in the big hitters now, so I guess not.
Best of luck with that Tom, enough mud has been thrown so .......

Hey it may not have made a difference against the colts but for them to raise the question you would think it had been done before. Look at the game before against the ravens, they only just got there in that one. Wind chill factor made it 9 degrees. Did they have inflated ***** there too?

I feel sorry for brady though, if i had his wife my ***** would be forever inflated.

Parity is fine BUT you have to remember the patriots have priors and therefore should be dealt with harshly. Conspiracy thoughts make me think though that it is easier to win an appeal against a huge penalty rather than a slightly overboard penalty. Goodell could have helped by giving a huge penalty.

Do you guys realise that this penalty actually saves the pats close to 1 mil? they lose a mil for the fine but gain 2 mil for Brady not playing 4 games.

Why is noone thinking about the 2 equiptment guys? these guys are losing their jobs for merely doing their jobs. I heard fans are passing roud teh hat for the 1 mil fine which as stated before is not a problem anyway. Pass the hat around for the 2 who have lost their livelihoods.

The pressure of game ***** will fluctuate in different weather conditions, but this will affect both teams and most importantly its not deliberate.

The Patriots 'priors', should not be used in conjunction with this investigation.

I have a wee bit of sympathy for the equipment guys and guess they might have been screwed if they had reported it anyway, but they should have done. Go to coach BB and just ask him if this is OK, put the (deflated) ball in his court.
They must have known what they were doing was wrong so are also culpable and deserve to lose their jobs.

Can't wait to see this sorry distraction go away.

Priors should not be used as part of an investigation but should ALWAYS be used to consider a penalty once the investigation has found there to be foul play.

Yes weather can affect it, yes both teams ***** should be affected, so why were the colts ***** normal? Because the patriots cheated.

Actually they only tested 4 of the Colts ***** and 3 were under the 12.5, but dont forget that they requested them to be at 13.0 so they had a .5 leeway to be over the 2.5

There is zero proof of any wrong doing by anyone, everything was an opinion and speculation. Page 238 even says that in the Wells report

What I don't understand is how they can put it on Brady unless someone actually came forward and said he let the air out. Maybe it was a running back or wide rec. or maybe they set the pressure to the lowest legal limit allowed and the coldness over time put the pressure below the limit. I'm a Steelers fan and I feel the accusations are just that, accusations. Also, the officials handle the ***** probably more than any one player and they couldn't tell? Throw the case out and let him play. We get them the first game of the season and I want to see my boys kick their *** full strength! Even though we'll be without Bell, I think Williams was a great pickup!
