In stats, there’sa column for these two stats. Is it tackles attempted and those which were missed?
Or successful tackles made and tackles missed?

Tackles means tackles that the player made individually or completed (last play to touch the other team's player in a group tackle).

Missed tackles is a broken stat. It means that at one point the player engaged the other team's player. Sometimes this means that the player missed the tackle or the tackle was broken (one on one tackling in space where the ball carrier pushes through the tackler.

OR

Sometimes it means that the player engaged the other team's player with multiple other players and didn't end up making the tackle, but the ball carrier was tackled nonetheless. This would typically be recorded as an assist. But the game doesn't record assists in this case. They get recorded as missed.

I've always been curious if this also applies to sacks allowed (last player blocking the sacker gets the sack allowed).

Also to catch %, which is why TEs **** so hard.

What do you mean? Granted TE operates in traffic a lot, but catch percentage is completions vrs target right? Are TE’s charged with extra targets that aren’t even close to them?

Also, if a defender breaks through a block to get a sack of course that blocker should be charged with a sack allowed. Seems to me there’s not a whole lot of sacks to go around in the first place compared to real football anyway

Yes, TEs are credited with being targeted because they are the closest to the actual pass. I can't square TE catch percentages with the stats database that I keep on my teams for game planning for instance.
