Is it predetermined which attributes boom/bust for each player or does it depend on the position?

To give an extreme and unrealistic example. If i switch a QB to DE. Has this any influence on big he booms/busts at lets say pass rush / run defense?

No. The boom bust is separate but the amount any rating moves is predetermined in some sense. There are player builds within the position the player is originally assigned to ......making the ratings for another possible position quite low in general.

This guy had 8 vol so the prediction of talent was easy. At camp He went up and will continue to generally trend in that direction till he meets his predetermined max.

Things can hold him back from reaching that max are coaches or playing time but in the case of switching a QB to DT the benefits would be the developing of a weight gain and the ratings according to the coaches.

This C was generated as a C but still achieved 51 arm strength. One of the highest out of position ratings I have ever seen generated. His man coverage with a slight boom will finish near 40 ....very high as well but With a slight bust man would be near 40 anyway.

So my bets no matter the player or the position change the highest out of position ratings will be within those two numbers .

Even with high volatility the best you’ll get is near that and it’s rare. The possible difference is only within the growth of the actual ratings....not the potential. The wrong coaches will only prevent him from reaching the full potential of his original generation.

When low ratings, generally the out of position ones, will max out quicker due to them being lower in the first place. It’s really the higher ratings that will be effected by switching a guy to completely different position.
