Overrides in preseason play

An example:

Joe Star in my starting RB, Steve Scrub is my No. 2 RB.

For a preseason game, I have it set for my starters to come out at halftime. Steve Scrub should replace Joe Star on the field for the second half.

But, in my overrides, Joe Star is the designated RB for all formations on third-and-long.

So, in a third-and-long situation during the second half, will Joe Star remain on the bench? Or do the overrides "override" the preferences for starters to be removed in the second half, thus leaving Joe Star out on the field?

I am wondering whether I need to do one set of overrides for preseason and another for regular season.

(The same scenario might apply to a regular-season game where my MISC preferences are set to remove starters with a big lead in the fourth quarter).

I am pretty sure preseason acts like pull starters. To me that would override the overide in both situations. With a shallow depth chart the AI would fill in the blank when short.

On my wish list, is for JDB to add 1/4s to the override radio options.
I would love, love - not only for preseason where it might be the most useful - to be able to set by override to use RB#3 90% of the time in only the third 1/4 on 3rd downs etc or what ever flips my wig.
I think it would really be sweet in regards to game planning for down and 2nd/4th 1/4 by down/location/yardage (all enabled atm) in combination with rules many of us use in those situations.
Glad this was brought up, it would be a great add to the site overhaul "hint, hint, nudge, nudge, know what i mean, do ya? Hmmm?"
