Coach contracts

I should know this; but, things may have changed. Can you promote a PC to OC/DC in season? I am given a "Contract" button and its allowing me to do so. For some reason, though I didn't think you could.

You can promote your own coaches, anytime. Only when you are looking to hire somebody else's coaches do you need to wait.
