Does Mfn sign potential free agents before free agency starts from inactive owners or from teams leaving a league? Is this happening before the start of free agency?Just curious too know if top players are leaving these teams for free agency.

Yes ownerless teams are active in free agency. I have lost a few free agent bids and coach bids to them ... and its frustrating lol. My belief it is done to keep those teams competitive for a new owner.

Regarding impending free agents, I would think it would be just as likely to sign the better players from the same standpoint as above for competitive balance.

HTH ... I would be interested in knowing as well!

Yes, if an owner has not renewed for the upcoming season or has not logged in during the last 14 days of the season, their team goes to AI for the "end of season" stage and will re-sign eligible players in the last year of their contracts. The AI will also re-sign eligible players in the last year of their contracts in early free agency, so if an owner takes over a team within the last 14 days of the season and then never returns, at least all of the veterans have been re-signed.

Yes, the AI can be fairly aggressive in free agency! They are also very aggressive at poaching coaches.

What about before the start of free agency?Do the key free agents re sign with the current club?

The AI will always attempt to sign players in the last year of their contract as early as possible. If a player does make it to free agency, he'll sign for the best offer he gets, so the goal with the AI intervention is to prevent that from happening - that's why if you don't log in during the last 14 days of the season you are assumed to be awol and the AI takes over.
