Pass.....recovered for a fumble??

No idea. Cost me big in such a close game though.

Is it just the text that is wrong? Looks like some crazy lateral effort, why would he even do that??

It looks to me like his offensive lineman may have bumped him and he threw the ball backwards, the ball took a crazy bounce, and then you lost the game...

There is 2 possibilities of what the reason of this play.

1st option
your QB #3 ( https://cust33.myfootballnow.com/player/3942 ) threw the ball and i have seen the play in slow motion and it kinda of looks like he hit OL jersey #72 ( https://cust33.myfootballnow.com/player/1768 ) and thats the reason the ball was a fumble in that it has to touch a offensive player for it to be considered a fumble where the defense can recover it.

2nd option
Now let me say i dont think this can be it but i still will tell you what might be.
Ok
Maybe the ball doesnt have to be touched by a offensive player for the ball to be considered fumble.
if it doesnt go by a certain point or maybe line of scrimmage then yes the pass will be a lateral where it would be considered a fumble where the defense can recover it.

me personally i think it is 1st option than 2nd option in that it looks like the offense players werent in a hurry to get the ball or at least thats what i got from looking at the play so they probably thought it was incomplete pass awhile the defensive players knew better where they ran over there like a herd of elephants to get the ball.

There's 2 things for me. It's either a fumble and a fumble recovery (with a backwards pass being considered a fumble, like a missed toss to a RB would be), but then I'm not sure the text needs to say it is a pass.

The 2nd issue is what is my QB doing? The hit lineman theory might be a good one, but if that has hit nobody, then that is a throw, before getting hit, presumably to the far side receiver that has missed him by so far he's actually thrown it behind the line of scrimmage.

Which would be absolutely terrible. Ball slips out or something, that happens, but to just miss that pass by that much for it to become a fumble seems pretty far fetched

Probaly a bi product of the dump off algorithim in the new engine. The QB checked all his receivers with a pattern in his view and went to a dump off option. Of the two guys to choose from FB and TE (both assigned to block) he chose the TE. Too bad when he threw it maybe ten feet it when six feet to the right. Also, too bad that six feet to the right made that pass a lateral in which now is a fumble and TD. That bounce was that short pass rocketed in to dirt. The only way that would happen IRL would be on purpose.

I think they used to happen alot but that is the first under this engine that i have seen.

It was indeed a backward pass (influenced by the pressure he didn't throw the ball cleanly.) The play-by-play should call it a fumble, that is indeed a bug that needs to be fixed, but it's only a bug in the play-by-play.
