Still if you just use the clock and see how far someone runs in a time frame the slower guys are a bit faster than the faster guys got. 100 speed stays the same.

So the faster you were the closer to that speed you became and the slower you were the faster you became from raising zero speed..

We used to get ranges as high as 9+ seconds and now that is a lower number. In doing so the effective of speed on a players weight has gotten slightly smaller as a by product. Also acceleration is more important as well but in the shorter ranges. Maybe it was 2.5 yards and now it’s 3.5 yards or something

Lock in some players weights at generation and have a few only move a 50-75 pounds or so. Really make tall players have a greater ability to gain weight while the opposite takes place for a shorter player. A shorter player can lose weight easily but it should much harder for them to gain.

The talent pool of speed would have less guys at the top... they’d all be too slow still but perhaps more balanced

Is it possible to do a matrix showing 40 yd sprint times using speed, acceleration and weight (position) as the variables?

For example, what is the 40 yd. sprint time for a typical wide receiver with an 85 speed rating and a 50 acceleration rating vs a typical wide receiver with a 50 speed rating and a 85 acceleration rating? I know there are other factors affecting speed to consider during an MFN game (e.g., injuries and fatigue), but I would find the information interesting and potentially helpful for the draft.

I assume acceleration is how quickly a player gets to his top speed. Is it a measure of time or distance? At what point during a race would the player with 80 sp/50 acc catch the player with 50 sp/80 acc? Or, how much quicker does the 90 sp vs 85 sp WR run a 40 yd dash when they both have equal acceleration?

Does anyone have any data relative to these question? Even anecdotal evidence might help unwind the answers to these question.

"speed and acceleration are used together, if acceleration is low a player may not get to their max speed. Also, fatigue reduces speed, so a slower player who is fresh may be able to outrun a faster player who is fatigued. Conditioning comes into play here quite a bit. So, speed of each player can be quite volatile throughout a game."

From Jan. 21, 2019:

"Acceleration is essentially just part of the physics calculation - a player has the speed they are attempting to get to, their weight is the mass that must be moved to reach that speed, and acceleration is the "force" that is used to push them. If it were a car, it would essentially be horsepower. So lower weight will counteract low acceleration. I am not looking at it right now, but I think that while speed is adjusted on the player card for the weight, I don't think acceleration is (but I might be mistaken, since both of those are "silently" impacted by a player's weight, I might have added the modifier for the player card to both attributes)"
