Penalties

Does anyone have advise on penalties? I have teams in 3 leagues and in each league I seem to get killed by penalties. As an example in MFN6, I just finished a game where I had 9 penalties accepted, 6 of which resulted in First Downs for my opponent. In one game in the Elite league, I had 15 total penalties (not all accepted).

I have looked at the Discipline and Intelligence for my roster and cannot find a correlation. It has become very frustrating and has impacted many of my games.

Thanks for any advice.

Fatigue settings will also affect penalties.

Is there some hidden documentation somewhere that actually explains what these ratings affect? I've discussed with a few people in our league what these ratings might mean, some are inscrutable.

Not that I know of. I just know as players get tired, their performance suffers. I'm not familiar with an equation that measures it.

I'm pretty sure I read in addition to fatigue, discipline, intelligence, and experience determine penalties. So technically veterans should be penalized less I think

Just finished another game, 14 penalties called, 11 accepted 8 of which resulted in first downs. My opponent had 2 penalties, 1 which resulted in a first down for me.

I checked my fatigue ratings DL is set at 30, WR is 35 and all others except QB and Kicker are 50.

This has me to a point where I am ready to give up on this game.

I have changed all my fatigue ratings to 35 except DL at 30. Will give this one more game.

I've never factored in a fatigue vs. penalty dynamic to halt infractions.

I believe you're swinging at and chasing windmills. :( Penalties are random from what I've experienced.

I wouldn't pull back my guys from playing more on the field in the search of being penalized less. Just load up on the best disciplined players and hope for the best.

In CUST-35, 7 games into the season (112 total games):
There are currently 1613 employed players.
863 penalties have been called on 582 players.
7.7 penalties per game.

23 players have 4 or more penalties, they account for 101 total penalties.
7 OT, 6 CB, 5 OG, 4 LB, 1 C

Compared to all employed players those 23 average:
Discipline -2.9
Speed -3.0 (but weight is +20, so this may just be over-representation by OL)
Acceleration +1.9
Strength +0.4
Intelligence -2.8

Among the 1613 there is a 15.6% injury rate.
Among the 23 there is a 17.4% injury rate.

I haven't broken it out by position vs positional ratings yet. There are significant deviations from the averages, but they look like they might just be close to expectations based on the distribution of the player sample.
I plan to do the same exercise for the Elite league.
