Hey MFN community,

I had an interesting idea I wanted to throw out and get your feedback on!

One of the things that makes these online communities great is the forum posting that goes on. I love it when guys post after games and especially love it when you post longer form "news" type articles during various points in the game.

Here's my idea: I'm wondering if you guys would be interested in having an "alter ego" posting option. Basically, for a certain number of game credits (maybe 7 or 10) you would be able to create an alternate posting personality within a league where you could have the ability to post articles by this personality, which would separate you as a game player from the posts, creating a deeper immersion factor. You could use this personality to post season or playoff previews, mock drafts, or whatever your heart's desire. (Even though you'd be posting anonymously to the community, your account will still be tied to your alter ego and abusing it would put you at risk of losing it) There would be no limit to the number of personalities you could create, and you would name them as well as have the ability to upload a picture for the avatar.

Thoughts?

Heh, looks like there's not a huge excitement about this idea - I'll pocket it for now :-)

I think the interest is probably there, but I think most are more locked into getting the game itself tuned-in before the "fluff".

I know I was one of the folks that would write "articles for the local rag" about things for a bit there, but then I got caught up with school and my 'actual' writing 'job'. Now I have time again, but now I'm in 3 leagues on here; don't know if I have THAT much time. Heh.

It's about striking that balance, and I'm guessing most of us haven't figured out that 'sweet spot' just yet.
